Activision (ATVI) has announced the launch of the Call of Duty Companion App, which allows gamers to track their performance, receive the latest news and earn squad rewards, for both iOS and Android devices.
According to the announcement, the Companion App allows for personalized reports for battles completed in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout, Multiplayer and Zombies, as well as Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer, including War Mode.
The app provides stats on specific loadouts and weapons, a heat map analysis to track every bullet and movement in each match, real-time news and a 20-person squad mode that presents in-game challenges, like killing a certain number of zombies, for game rewards like skins or real-world prizes.
“The Call of Duty Companion App is something that we are very excited for players to use to enhance their gameplay experience,” said Gina Hope, senior director of marketing technology at Activision. “From connecting you with friends and fellow players, to providing personalized match analysis to checking out your loadouts and competing in challenges with your own squad, it’s a new way for players to engage with the game and the community.”
The new app will add to the already wildly successful launch of the new Black Ops title, which broke company records for sales on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
