Bethesda’s latest addition to the Fallout series is set in West Virginia, where players work together, or in opposition, with the common objective of survival. This is the first game in the series to not offer a singleplayer campaign but brings the most dynamic world-map yet.
Under the emerging threat of nuclear annihilation, players begin by customizing their character with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and must forge their own path throughout an untamed and dangerous wasteland. Between the hundreds of locations to explore, and myriad dangers present, ranging from bands of adversaries to vile animal attacks, there will be plenty for players to do as they progress through the game.
The omniscient narrator promises a variety of “fun activities” that may be experienced when traveling the wasteland alone or in a group — with activities ranging from blowing up an old amusement park to playing instruments during down times.
Given that survival is the game’s primary objective, players will be equipped with various guns ready to even-out the odds. It’s unclear as of now whether the firearms and melee weapons are to be found in the world or must be unlocked, but regardless, players will contain a large equipment menu to house all their finds.
Fallout 76 will be available come November 14, with those who pre-order containing access to the closed beta.
