ESL and Supercell revealed Wednesday the details for the upcoming Clash of Clans World Championship, which will feature $1 million in total prizes.


According to the announcement, the series will have 6 months of competitions with a brand new 5v5 format for the Clan War Leagues. Starting in March, there will be monthly qualifiers that feature the top 4 clans from the Clan War Leagues and top 4 clans from ESL Play.

“The first round of qualifiers will kick off on Friday March 1, 2019 where the first of six pre-qualifier rounds will be open for everyone to participate. Only the top eight teams, four from in-game Clan War Leagues and four from ESL Play, will have the opportunity to participate in the monthly offline qualifier that takes place in Katowice, Poland,” reads the announcement.

In order to participate, players must be at least 18 years old and registered on the ESL Play platform. Additionally, players must have a Town Hall at least a level of 12 to be eligible for competition.

Supercell recently reported that it generated a profit of $635 million on revenue of $1.6 billion in 2018, a drop from the profit of $810 million on revenues of $2.029 billion in 2017.
