According to the invitational’s website, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, BIG, and compLexity have been confirmed as participants. The tournament itself will run from January 25-27, and each match will feature a best-of-three format, meaning that the teams will get ample opportunities to face one another.
The event will be hosted by none other than Alex “GoldenBoy” Mendez, along with a full roster of commentators, analysts and reporters set to bring the experience to life. Tickets are now available to see it live in Atlanta or it can be streamed live on Twitch.
This news comes as CS:GO begins to see a resurgence in popularity after Valve made the decision to remove the game’s $14.99 price tag on December 6. Early data shows this move to free-to-play (FTP) has been a smart one, as average daily user numbers are currently up over 30%.
