Coinbase Pro Adds Support for Crypto Purchases Using British Pounds

San Francisco-based crypto giant Coinbase revealed this week that it now supports direct crypto purchases using British pounds on its Pro platform.

According to the announcement, Coinbase Pro will soon support ETH/GBP, ETC/GBP, LTC/GBP and BCH/GBP trading pairs, and already allows investors to buy Bitcoin with GBP. Coinbase has detailed a three-step launch process that will allow it to monitor the order books for the GBP trading pairs before enabling full-trading.

The company now claims that Pro is the only major digital currency trading platform to support Faster Payments, as part of an effort to become the go-to for U.K. crypto traders, who can now deposit GBP into their accounts via domestic bank transfers.

Coinbase also recently revealed a new feature that allows European customers to cash out their cryptocurrency in the form of digital gift cards.

While there is no indication as to when Coinbase will enable full trading for all available digital assets on its Pro platform, the company indicated that it will release updates via its Twitter account over the coming months.
