San Francisco-based Coinbase has launched a new update for Coinbase Wallet, its Ethereum-based wallet, adding Bitcoin (BTC) support.

According to the announcement, the wallet now supports both newer SegWit addresses and Legacy addresses with backward compatibility in all applications.

Coinbase Wallet already supports ETH and ETC, and the 100,000+ ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. The exchange giant notes that the token addresses for existing Coinbase Wallet users should be conserved across the mobile app and wallet.

This news comes after Coinbase added additional functionality to allow users to better store and access their ERC-20 tokens. In addition, Coinbase has also recently added a new gallery for crypto collectibles and integrated with marketplaces OpenSea and RareBits to support hundreds of different collectibles.

The new Wallet update with Bitcoin support will roll out to all users on iOS and Android over the next week. Coinbase plans on adding additional support for Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and other popular cryptocurrencies in the near future.
