CoinMarketCap (CMC), the leading cryptocurrency price data website, has been making changes to its platform since being acquired by Binance earlier this year.

According to a recent announcement, the website has launched a new live chat feature. To use the chat, users must create an account and login — another recently added feature.

Interestingly, the chat feature is only available on coin pages after that coin’s price makes a major move. It’s also only activated for a short period.

“Our chat is a bit more unique than a regular messenger like Telegram, WhatsApp or even Twitter,” states CoinMarketCap. “Each of the top 200 coins on CMC has its own channel ā€” but thereā€™s a catch. The channels will only open for discussion whenever there is a big enough price movement in either direction, and only for 24 hours.”

For those who want to keep the conversation going, there is an aptly named “To the Moon” channel that is active at all times.

The chat feature is currently only available on the website but Binance and CoinMarketCap have noted that they are planning to bring it to the Android and iOS apps in the near future.
