The price of Decentraland (MANA), the first virtual reality platform owned by its users, is currently up around 7% on the day as the project continues to gain momentum.

Decentraland recently hit a new record for a single LAND purchase. Less than a week ago a 126-parcel piece of LAND was purchased for 2.7 million MANA ($215,000) by an unidentified individual or organization. The purchase was made via the project’s built-in marketplace that allows users to buy and sell parcels of LAND with MANA.

Decentraland has also seen progress with its onboarding of third-party game developers. Most recently, Axie Infinity, a new blockchain-based collectibles game that features PvP battles, announced that it is coming to Decentraland.

While Decentraland is still up around 545% since launching in 2017, the project has been in a downtrend for most of the year. MANA is currently the 63rd largest coin in the AltDex 100 Index (ALT100), a benchmark index for large-cap cryptocurrencies and tokens.
