Decentraland (MANA), the first virtual reality platform owned by its users, announced Thursday that it has partnered with Dapper Labs, the creator of the popular Ethereum (ETH) collectibles game CryptoKitties.

According to the announcement, the partnership will initially center around the addition of “Picture Frames” to the Decentraland Builder, which allow users to insert two-dimensional depictions of collectible NFTs directly into scenes.

CryptoKitties is the first crypto-collectibles game available with the new functionality, but Decentraland is currently taking suggestions for additional blockchain items to support.

To access stored collectibles, the Decentraland Builder connects to Dapper Labs’ new Ethereum wallet, Dapper, which is designed specifically to support blockchain gaming assets.

As is the case with several other popular blockchain games, the browser wallet covers all of the gas fees for Decentraland transactions.

Decentraland’s last major announcement came at the end of April when the team announced custom Avatars for Genesis City. These Avatars will serve as the backbone of Decentraland’s identity validation system, allowing users to choose a unique name and customize their appearance from hundreds of different characteristics, ranging from facial features to outfits.
