Decentraland (MANA), the first virtual reality platform owned by its users, has hit a new record for a single LAND purchase.

According to data first highlighted by DCLBlogger, a 126-parcel piece of LAND was just purchased for 2.7 million MANA ($215,000) by an unidentified individual or organization. The purchase was made via the project’s built-in marketplace that allows users to buy and sell parcels of LAND with MANA.

LAND parcels, which are non-fungible digital assets maintained in an Ethereum smart contract, can be used for anything from online businesses to games and resorts. Users can access the 3D world with a VR headset or simply via web browser.

We previously reported that a separate user closed a 40-parcel purchase in Genesis City for 1.3 million MANA — worth roughly $95,000 at the time.

MANA is currently trading for $0.0765, giving the project an $80.41 million market cap and making it the 65th largest coin in the AltDex 100 Index (ALT100), a benchmark index for large-cap cryptocurrencies and tokens.
