According to the announcement, the new Builder is not designed to take the place of the project’s SDK editor, but instead offers creative tools for people of all skill levels and backgrounds. Ultimately, it’s designed to lower the entry barrier for average users to participate in the development of the VR ecosystem. The new tools are completely open and free to use for creating content, games, apps and art.
Calling All Creators
To help promote the launch, Decentraland is giving away 50 parcels of LAND and more than 900K MANA to creators who submit the top-50 designs selected by the judges to spruce up Decentraland’s Genesis City.
Here’s how the team plans to distribute the MANA prizes:
- 1st place: 200,000 MANA
- 2nd place: 150,000 MANA
- 3rd place: 100,000 MANA
- 4th place: 50,000 MANA
- 5th place: 25,000 MANA
- 6-50th place: 7,500 MANA
The top-5 creators’ LAND parcels will also be situated in “premium locations.”
MANA is currently up 4.25% on the day to $0.051807, giving the token a $54.4 million market cap and making it the 81st largest cryptocurrency.
