Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, a Twitch streamer known globally for his Fortnite play, has become the first streamer and esports athlete to be sponsored by insurance giant State Farm.

DrLupo currently holds a star-like status on Twitch and social media, with more 2.9 million Twitch followers and 7 million social followers. He is perhaps best known for his duos matches with Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

“DrLupo is one of the world’s most followed Fortnite streamers,” said State Farm marketing director Ed Gold. “His philanthropic efforts and massive fanbase make him an ideal partner as we continue to amplify our esports programming and efforts with the gaming community.”

This isn’t State Farm’s first foray into esports and gaming as it currently sponsors the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) and Rocket League Championship Series, as well as working closely with the NBA 2K League.

“Being given the opportunity to work with State Farm is, without a doubt, huge,” DrLupo added. “I couldn’t imagine a better company to work with, and I’m excited to see what we can do together in the future.”
