Fortnite fans rejoice, Epic Games has announced a partnership with ESL to host the ESL Katowice Royale, a new tournament series with $600,000 in total prizes.

According to the announcement, the series will take place across two weekends and will feature 200 of the world’s best Fortnite players and influencers. There will be a $100,000 prize pool up for grabs in the Polish Edition on February 23-24 and a $500,000 prize pool at the International Edition, which is slated for March 1-3.

The event will feature a playing area encompassing 100 PCs and 100 PS4s spread over a 2,500-meter area. In addition to the pro competition, the ESL Katowice Royale will include a free-to-play area that allows amateurs the chance to win material prizes worth more than $50,000.

“ESL Katowice Royale – Featuring Fortnite will be our first international Fortnite competition and we couldn’t be more excited,” said ESL Chief Product Officer Sebastian Weishaar. “Fans from all over the world know our Katowice event and bringing Fortnite as one of the world’s largest games to them feels like a great fit!”

The ESL Katowice Roayle is another addition to the growing Fortnite esports ecosystem, joining both the upcoming $500K Secret Skirmish and the Fortnite Summer Smash, which will run during the 2019 Australian Open and is set to be the largest event in Australian competitive gaming with $500K in total prizes.
