Overwatch League (OWL) is all geared up for a major weekend of competitions with the upcoming playoff semifinals and grand finals of Stage 2 competition.

While the main focus will certainly be on the gameplay, especially given that the matchups will be featured on ABC, Overwatch League is planning to air a featurette of an avid super fan with a unique story.

OWL has shared with us that ESPN recently shot and produced a featurette on Danik Soudakoff, a deaf fan for the LA Valiant. The video, which was posted to EPSN’s Esports Twitter handle on Thursday, will be airing on the Overwatch League broadcast today on ABC and Twitch.

Interestingly, Soudakoff may have a career as a streamer in his future, as his YouTube channel has already gained 115 followers after his first 3 videos.

Stories like these exemplify the inclusive nature of the new industry, offering up unique avenues for individuals from all walks of life to engage in competition and fandom.
