According to the recent announcement, players will be able to give gifts to one another exactly one week after Wednesday’s 6.31 update for all console platforms outside of iOS, as Apple currently prohibits gift giving.
Now, when players visit the Item Shop and choose an item to purchase, they will now be presented with two options: one saying “Purchase Items” and another saying “Buy As A Gift.”
In addition to the gifting functionality, the 6.31 update also brings Team Rumble LTM, a limited time game type, and epic and legendary pump shotguns.
Interestingly, recent reports suggest Cryptocurrencies and V-Bucks, the in-game currency for Fortnite, are the most sought after monetary items among teenagers this holiday season. According to Piper Jaffray’s “Holiday 2018” report teens are seeking digital forms of money over cash, gift cards and gas money.
