According to the recent announcement, HyperSnakes shares the same core gameplay as Slither.io, allowing gamers to take control of a snake avatar, collect dots to grow longer and defeat their enemies by becoming the longest snake in the arena.
To make things a bit more interesting, MIXMARVEL is introducing some new features to the game, including new abilities like shielding and EMPs. Most notably, MIXMARVEL is jumping on the battle royale bandwagon and introducing a shrinking battlefield to facilitate interactions between players as they battle for the crypto airdrops.
The game features a free to play mode that doesn’t require a TRON wallet where players can still earn cryptocurrency, as well as premium rooms that allow players to stake their TRX to compete for TRX pools. The pool is divided based on player performance. There are also random crypto airdrops, described as being akin to PUBG supply crates, and earnable “SC” tokens.
MIXMARVEL CEO Jade Zhang said, “Blockchain gaming has limitless potential, but the space currently lacks a game that will lead to mass adoption. With HyperSnakes’ polished graphics, smooth user onboarding experience, and real-time PvP gameplay, MIXMARVEL & TRON Arcade hope to inspire new blockchain gaming experiences that bridge blockchain and mainstream gaming.”
Upon initial review, the game looks to be a solid mix of traditional mechanics with some interesting NFT-driven features that could give the adaptation added staying power.
HyperSnakes’ beta began on Friday and the official launch is scheduled for mid-March.
