According to the announcement, Costas has joined the existing Team Secret corporate structure as the vice chairman of strategy and finance with a focus on advancing business development initiatives to help the organization achieve new frontiers in the esports industry.
“John is someone that I respect tremendously — the addition of his passion, intelligence, and experience marks the next stage in Team Secret’s growth, and we look forward to an exciting future together,” said Team Secret CEO John Yao.
Costas served as the CEO of UBS from 2000 to 2005. From 2005 through 2007, Costas headed up Dillon Read Capital Management, a UBS proprietary trading unit.
