According to an announcement Wednesday, Microsoft Azure NFTs in the form of digital badgers are now available on the Enjin blockchain, although they were initially minted in September. When asked for comment, Enjin disclosed that they have been exploring an early-stage collaboration with the tech giant.
“We are collaborating with Microsoft on Azure Heroes, a pilot blockchain-based recognition program in select Western European markets,” Bryana Kortendick, Enjin’s VP of operations and communications, told us in an email. “Azure Heroes aims to recognize the real contributions and positive behaviors in the Microsoft developer community. The program emphasis will be on acts such as volunteering, mentoring, teaching others and creating inclusive environments—the things that communities are all about.”
Azure Heroes are essentially digital badges with badger characters and titles for completing various tasks on the Azure platform or in support of the Azure ecosystem. Since the NFTs are meant for the Microsoft developer community, they have a limited supply (1,424) and are valued at 0.001 ENJ.
“The Azure Heroes badgers were created in a number of original and unique designs which have been tokenized into a digital asset on the Ethereum public blockchain,” Microsoft explains in its announcement, “You could be recognized with your very own digital badgers for the real contributions you make in the community. Our Azure developer community engagement managers will be on the lookout for individuals that volunteer, mentor or teach others and who are contributing to strong and sustainable communities.”
There are currently 65 wallets that hold these NFTs with transactions as recent as today.
As a result of the news, Enjin Coin has surged 37% on the day and is currently trading for $0.0804 with a $63.1 million market cap.
