Los Angeles radio host Leeann Tweeden has publicly accused Minnesota Senator Al Franken of forcibly kissing and groping her without her permission while touring with the USO. While many, including Trump, were quick to shame Franken for his actions, evidence suggests that playful groping, grinding and even kissing are commonplace on USO tours, and Tweeden participates quite willingly when she’s in charge.

A recent Imgur gallery highlights several examples, including screenshots from the above video, that suggest Tweeden is well aware of the flirtatious behavior between co-hosts on the USO tour. A screenshotted Instagram post shows Tweeden forcing a surprise kiss on an airman — his shock is evident. We searched through her Instagram to try and find the post, but it seems to have been deleted.
It’s hard to say whether the airman enjoyed the kiss from Tweeden or not, but at least Franken’s kiss was written into the script.
Tweeden seems to enjoy slapping men’s asses. This video from 2006 shows her slapping a guitar player’s ass, while this video from 2004 has her slapping Robin Williams’ ass after introducing him. While the men laughed it off, it doesn’t mean they enjoyed being molested by Tweeden. In Tweeden’s own words, “I stayed quiet, but I was angry.” Her behavior is a perfect example of how attractive women wield their power — she assumes her advances are welcome, and the men are expected to appreciate and enjoy the interaction simply because she’s hot.
While Tweeden’s ass slapping, grinding, and mounting of other men doesn’t excuse Franken’s actions, it does raise some questions about the expected behavior between co-hosts at these USO events. Franken clearly took things way too far, but it does seem like a certain amount of physical interaction is commonplace between the performers.
