The ultra-indie Duplass brothers’ new HBO original series Room 104 aired last Friday and let’s just say, they’ve piqued our interest. While the Duplass brothers are largely known for their quirky dramedies, the first episode definitely threw some thriller/horror vibes our way. It had a terrific pace (30-minute run time flew by) and felt similar to an episode of the The Twilight Zone.
Room 104 is a anthrology series set in a single room of a dingy motel room you’d find close to the airport. Each episode tells a different story of the assorted guests who pass through Room 104. The stories apparently range from funny and romantic to sad and scary.
We’re all in and ready for more. It’s a truly unique show that answers the age-old question: “who slept in these hotel sheets before me?”
