The Sirin Finney recently joined a select group of phones that are dedicated to accessing blockchain on the go. A report from CNET details a unique hardware featured on the prototype, which consists of a pop-up screen that is hidden inside the phone to promote an added layer of security.

The phone includes software that is securely encrypted to allow users to safely and covertly access their cryptocurrency. To approve a transaction, users may slide the second screen to launch a cold wallet that is kept separate from the rest of the device. The cold wallet resides on a small, closed-off screen that is separated from the rest of the device by a firewall, which theoretically ensures cryptocurrency is being sent directly and privately across parties.

The device runs on Sirin OS, which is proprietary software based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The software is geared to include a multi-layered cybersecurity suite, token conversation service that promotes seamless cryptocurrency exchanges and access to a store for decentralized applications (DApps). Secured communications across email, text messages, and VoIP, alongside a three-factor authentication service, consisting of biometric, lock pattern, and behavioral, will be included.

Named after Hal Finney, who received the first recorded bitcoin transaction, Sirin Finney will be launched by Israel-based Sirin Labs, and will reportedly be priced at $999. Sirin Finney has been designed to be easy-to-use for users who are either well-versed or completely new to the blockchain.

CNET reports that the phone will be manufactured by Foxconn and released this November. During the launch, the phone may only be purchased with cryptocurrency, with plans to build a peer-to-peer network among Siri Finney users being announced following initial sales.
