Temtem is an upcoming Pokémon-inspired massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure game.
In the game, players seek adventure within the Airborne Archipelago, where ‘Temtems’ may be caught, other players may be battled, and an online world filled with dynamic landscapes may be explored.
Crema has recently announced that Temtem will be available as a cross-play game for all consoles other than PlayStation 4, following Sony’s current mass cross-play ban. Though, the team is hopeful that Sony will rethink the decision moving forward to allow for a broader experience.
The objectives of Temtem mirrors that of the handheld Pokémon games, in that the journey ahead consists of a story campaign that revolves around the competitive rivalries that emerge in a world where Temtems’ and humans coexist peacefully. The Archipelago consists of six separate islands that each house new species of Temtem.
Players begin their journey by choosing ten Temtem before delving into the battle mechanics. The combat is turn-based and is initiated after rivals choose four Temtem for their opponents to utilize within the given encounter.
Although players are pinned against each other, each individual shares a primary objective, which consists of fighting against the evil Clan Belsoto, who stands to weave a dastardly conspiracy against Temtem and humans if not reprimanded.
Players may join forces through co-op, customize their characters with cosmetics, and build their own quarters in Atoll Row, which may be fully furnished or artfully designed.
Temtem’s early access launch will begin in September 2019, with the final release for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One occurring in May 2020.
