Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale shooter, is off to a hot start, surpassing 10 million players in just three days.

Looking to capitalize on the game’s blockbuster popularity, Twitch recently announced that it has partnered with Respawn Entertainment for the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends Challenge, featuring some of the top streamers on Twitch and a $200,000 prize pool.

According to the announcement, 48 streamers will be participating in the upcoming event, including:

The event is scheduled to run from February 12-19 and will involve 16 three-player squads from North America and EMEA. According to Twitch, “Each squad will compete to earn the most points, with 5 points awarded for each match victory and 1 point awarded for each kill.”

Apex Legends allows players to choose from a lineup of Legends, each with their own set of skills. Each match features up to 60 players and allows for team play, similar to other battle royale titles like Fortnite and CoD’s Blackout.

The game features a number of unique elements, including Respawn Beacons that players can use to resurrect their teammates, Smart Comms to help players communicate, Intelligent Inventory for easier item pick-up and management and an all-new way to drop into the action with Jumpmaster deployment.
