The Casa Node, which is made by Casa, allows users to validate the blockchain themselves and broadcast their own transactions. The general idea behind this that users are in total control of their assets and transactions, an early intention of the entire system, while also supporting decentralization of the network. The Casa Node can be connected to mobile apps or through a browser interface
The Casa Node also uniquely offers access to the Lighting Network with offline support that allows users to keep their Lightning channels open even with power outages.
The Casa Node comes with the following specs:
- Casa Node (pre-assembled and pre-synced)
- Raspberry Pi 3B+ and 1TB Seagate HDD
- Hard drive adapter cable
- 3-foot ethernet cable
- AC power adapter
This news comes around a month after Dorsey participated in the ongoing LN Trust Chain, a community-driven initiative started by hodlonaut to build awareness around the Lightning Network and help expand its capacity.
More recently, Dorsey’s other company, Square (SQ), reported bitcoin sales of $166 million last year, resulting in a net profit of $1.69 million. He has also teased the fact he plans to bring the Lightning Network to Square’s Cash App.
